El segon àlbum dels Prefab Sprout és, de bon tros, el meu preferit de tots els que va fer la banda de Paddy McAloon. El van titular Steve McQueen no se sap ben bé perquè (potser, i això m’ho faig jo, perquè els ulls de McQuenn desprenien una tristesa similar a la que desprèn el disc). A la portada, McAloon muntava una moto Triumph –una de les passions de l’actor americà– amb Wendy Smith arrapada a la seva esquena. Als Estats Units, per problemes de drets, li van haver de canviar el nom i es va acabar titulant Two Wheels Good.
Amb un nom o amb l’altre, és un àlbum esplèndid. Amb cançons pop tan delicades i delicioses com aquesta Goodbye Lucille #1 que hem triat per al VOSC (i que tothom, per motius prou obvis, coneix com Johnny, Johnny).
